Free Eye Screening, Special Lunch and Gifts as School Says “Thank You” to its Heroes
Kasoa, Windy Hill – CP. In line with the Global World Teachers’ Day Celebration on Monday, 5th October 2026, the Management and Pupils of Peculiar International School are set to roll out the red carpet for its dedicated teaching staff.
While the world will be marking the day, Peculiar International School will make the whole compound go gay in recognition of our dear teachers who have for 25 years lived our vision – “To raise morally upright Leaders.”
According to the Head of School, Rev. Peter Atta Bilson, this year’s celebration is special because it falls within the school’s Silver Jubilee Year. “A school without teachers is no school. Our teachers are our greatest asset. For 25 years they have carried this school from 2 pupils to over a thousand. We cannot thank them enough,” he said.
What to Expect on Monday 5th October
1. A Special Assembly to Start the Day
The day will begin with a short but powerful assembly at 8:00am at the GES Campus. The highlight will be an address by the Directors of the school, Mrs. Naomi Osei-Asemani and Rev. Emmanuel Asemani, to appreciate and motivate the teachers.
The pupils are not left out. Students from the three departments – GES, Cambridge and Montessori – will recite special poems, sing soul-touching gratitude songs, and perform heartwarming skits to show their love for their teachers.
2. The Walls Will Speak
In a creative innovation, students will display their appreciation of teachers in beautifully handwritten notes, cards and writings placed at vantage places across the entire campus. Every corridor, staff common room, and classroom entrance will carry a message of “Thank You, Teacher.”
3. Health and Care for Our Teachers
Knowing the immense strain teaching puts on the eyes, the school in partnership with an eye care center will organize a FREE Eye Screening exercise for all teachers. Because a teacher who sees well, teaches well.
4. Feast and Gifts
In the afternoon, all teachers will be treated to a Special Lunch organized by Management. There will also be little gifts here and there for teachers as tokens of love from the Directors, Parents, and Pupils.
The School Administrator, Mr. Ben-Simon Dzanboe, invites all parents to join in the celebration by encouraging their wards to write a personal “Thank You” note to their teachers.
Peculiar International School believes that teaching is the mother of all professions. This 5th October, we rise to say: “Ayekoo to all our Peculiar Teachers!”
